Hey guys, I know a lot of people have very busy schedules that keep them from being as involved as they'd like. Some of you may be involved in connect or reach groups but would like to be involved in a grow group. Others may be volunteering on the weekend and may not be able to hear the message each week. This is where the virtual group comes in...
Here's what I'm thinking: we'd go through a short book of the Bible (or another inspirational book) chapter by chapter. If I were leading the group I would do a short (10-15 minute) video devotional on the chapter, then offer discussion questions which we would discuss in a forum on Netgroups.
This isn't designed to be the only group you'd get involved in, but simply a supplement to other things you are involved in. I know its radical and not sure that its ever been done before, but I'm wanting to know what you think. Ideas? Comments? Suggestions?
This is a great idea!! Especially for those of us who live further away from Chattanooga. Like my wife and I live in Trenton, GA.
I am ALL for this if we can do it. How can I help?
I also wanted to comment, and let people know that if they do get involved with the "virual" meetings, to please don't let that take the place of your actual social interactions. Personally i feel like interacting face to face is so beneficial. Ya know?
I definitely think we can supplement the weekend message with this! Also I totaly agree with you Clay, this should not take place of face to face interaction. It should only supplement it. I'll brainstorm it some more and see where everyone can help. Thanks!
I actually haven't thought about it in a while, but its definitely something I'd consider doing. Would you want to tie it into the message? Discussing what it was about and stuff? Or we could tie around something else. Give me some ideas. I'll bounce it off Ryan again too.
Ok, so I can definitely say Ryan in interested in something like this. We may be putting together some questions around what's going on during the weekend services. This would make it easier to do something like this. Sorry its taken me so long to respond and get on this. School and work (and Ryan) are keeping me pretty busy right now. I wont forget about this though.
