This week we looked at Chapters 5-11, highlighting the 7 seals and the 7 trumpets:

Toughest Question of the Week: Beginning in Chapter 4, John moves from seeing things from earth to seeing things from heaven's point-of-view...

Q: Have you ever had moment of clarity resulting from seeing a situation from another point-of-view?

Seals 1-6 show us that bad things are always going to happen, but then we see that BEING IN RELATIONSHIP WITH CHRIST BRINGS US PEACE!

Q1: How do you tend to respond to chaos in your life?
Q2: How has a relationship with Christ effected your ability to have peace in the middle of the chaos?

Trumpets 1-6 show us that bad things are still going to happen, but then we see that BEING ON MISSION FOR CHRIST BRINGS HIM PRAISE!

Q1: When John ate the scroll, it was sour in his stomach - what are some things that are tough to swallow for you as it relates to the Christian life?
Q2: What's a practical way for you to be "on mission" for Christ this week?

Q: Have you ever had moment of clarity resulting from seeing a situation from another point-of-view?
Actually, learning about Meyer's Briggs has helped me to feel like I get a better view of personality differences
and has given me a clearer scope of learning about people. It helps me to not take things so personally and see things from different angles. The whole thing is about seeing things from other people's perspective. The first time I came across learning about this kind of stuff I felt like I got a much clearer view on people and myself- very- oh suddenly things make so much more sense kind of moment- seeing the bigger picture in such great detail.

Q1: When John ate the scroll, it was sour in his stomach - what are some things that are tough to swallow for you as it relates to the Christian life?
The whole going out and evangelizing thing I cannot swallow well at all. I don't want to be a salesman for God and I feel like there is pressure to be one. It might be a bad thing- but I just want to be me, want God to be God and let whoever I am with be themselves- be they believing or not and even if they never believe. I am not out to get souls- I just want to be a friend and let my life be its own advertisement for God if that makes sense. I feel very uncomfortable with the thought of having to push the brand. For some it is a gift and I don't mind that they do- I just don't feel like it is mine and is what my part is.

Q2: What's a practical way for you to be "on mission" for Christ this week?
I don't know- sometimes the mission comes to you instead of you coming to it. I think I need to keep my ears listening and my eyes open- I'll be open to being given a mission.

I love these questions by the way. I very much enjoy this kind of thing.
