We've had a lot of people contact us regarding the situation in Haiti. Our prayers are with the people of the country and the families who have lost loved ones.

I know many of you are looking for ways to help, so we wanted to get this forum up and running. Below are some links to organizations we recommend starting with for sending supplies, offering financial support, or perhaps even taking a trip to assist with clean up. In addition, we will be giving some financial assistance as a church.

Feel free to add comments to this forum and use it as a place to connect with other believers at The Net who are interested in helping in some way.

(forgive me if you have seen this already)

Not that our lives are boring or anything, but Jenifer and I feel quite strongly that we're supposed to go to Haiti with SCORE International (http://scoreinternational.org) . We'd be setting up a distribution center and helping get food and water to the folks who have been devastated by this earthquake.

All we need is $1200.00. (This includes airfare, meals, lodging, ground transportation, insurance and supplies.)

Each.

So if you haven't shaken the quarters of the couch recently, flip that thing over and see what falls our. If you can help us - and feel so led - or if you know of anyone who could help us, it would be much appreciated. By help us out I mean financially OR prayer!! Prayers are also GREATLY appreciated!!

Just doing our part to keep life interesting and help a few folks out.

Jenifer and I just received this from SCORE:

You have been assigned to the Port au Prince team for your February 6th trip to Haiti.

We will be working at New Life Orphanage with Pastor John Edmond, a Haitian national. His son, Wesley Edmond, will be at our facility in the DR and will be riding with us on the bus to PAP and escorting us in. Our main ministry at New Life will be setting up a feeding center. We will cook some meals (beans and rice) as well as handing our canned food and water. There might be some need for hands on ministry such as removing debris and rubble from the orphanage site.
