Does Jesus Still Bring Dead Things to Life?
Luke 24:1-12 – 1On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb.
2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’” 8Then they remembered his words.
9When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened. (NIV)
Lessons from a Graveyard
Often times in life, things don’t TURN OUT the way we had PLANNED
and in our disappointment we sometimes go to a DEAD PLACE
in hopes of finding LIFE, but a resurrection can turn a TRAGIC ENDING into a NEW BEGINNING !
Personalize the POWER of the resurrection…
Eph 1:19-20 – I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe... the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead.”
Personalize the PURPOSE of the resurrection…
Hebrews 9:27 – Everyone has to die once then face the consequences. (MSG)
John 17:3 – And this is the way to have eternal life--by knowing you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth!
Personalize the PRIVILEGE of the resurrection…
John 1:12 – But all who have received Him, to them—that is, to those who trust in His name—He has given the privilege of becoming children of God… (NTMS)

Today's service was amazing. I was so moved by the huge crowd at response time. I think many people experienced resurrection today!

I don't think I've ever heard that message applied in that way exactly, and the part in Luke 24:5 Where the angel says "Why do you look for the living among the dead" took on a whole new meaning for me.
I also want to thank Pastor Ryan for not parading a man from the church down the aisle in a diaper pretending to be Jesus. That has always made me uncomfortable, especially when you know the man.

Yeah... It was always interesting for me growing up since my brother played Jesus every year... I was so conflicted... I didn't want to see Jesus beat up, but seeing my brother beat up was so exhilarating! :)

Still amazed by the NET church. Not your typical church but Jesus was no typical man. I believe that the net is right on track for reaching the lost, lonely and abandoned...even those that have it all together too. God sees people...ALL people and I believe that the NET will reach all types. Thank you for being who you are. I will visit every chance I get, since I live in Knoxville. Any recommendations for a similar church in the Knoville area? Oh..and I loved the response time too!
